How long does AEO certification take?
Typically 6–12 months from gap analysis to certificate, depending on company size and existing controls.
What are the requirements?
Two general requirements (no customs/tax crimes, two years of audited financial statements) plus seven special criteria covering legal compliance, trade data management, financial capability, communication, training, security/safety, and measurement/improvement.
Does AEO require ISO 9001 first?
No. ISO 9001 isn't a prerequisite, but it strongly accelerates AEO documentation if you already have it.
